Ellen DeGeneres may bring about loud volumes of laughter on her talk show, but her other businesses aren’t so humorous.

The Huffington Post reported the funny woman and Covergirl spokesperson is being targeted by One Million Moms, a branch of the American Family Association, for her latest business venture with retail giant JC Penney.

The organization is upset that JC Penney hired DeGeneres as a spokeswoman because she's openly gay.

According to MSNBC, One Million Moms wrote about its discontent on its website.

"Funny that JC Penney thinks hiring an open homosexual spokesperson will help their business when most of their customers are traditional families. DeGeneres is not a true representation of the type of families that shop at their store. The majority of JC Penney shoppers will be offended and choose to no longer shop there."

And the group, which sells itself as “the most powerful tool you have to stand against the immorality, violence, vulgarity and profanity the entertainment media is throwing at your children," is going as far as asking people to join in on their protest and call in complaints to the company.

We wouldn’t be too surprised if they got more complaints than JC Penney.
