Ellen DeGeneres is very busy, wearing the many hats of talk show host, comedienne, wife, author, and actress – and along with that, she is preparing for the release of her new book.
Seriously…I’m Kidding is 256-pages of hard covered, heart-felt comedy, filled with stories of her personal life, as well as everyday advice. DeGeneres also writes about being a CoverGirl model and judging American Idol, says SheWired.
Joking around with Publishers Weekly, Ellen shares the differences in writing for books, TV shows, and standup.
“It’s a very different process for all three. For instance, I write all my books standing up. I write my TV show slightly reclined. And ironically, I wrote all of my standup while I was sitting down.”
Even when touching on serious topics in her book, Ellen never loses her sense of humor.
“Having a sense of humor is very important. It can help get you through some dark times and it just helps to have a more positive energy about everything. It’s definitely one of the keys to a happy life,” DeGeneres says. “Shoot, you got me. I just gave away Chapter 9.”
Seriously…I’m Kidding is available in stores October 4.
