Ellen Given OK By Jenna Bush To Use Bush Ranch For Same-Sex Wedding

Ellen DeGeneres will wed longtime partner Portia de Rossi.

On the taping of the Ellen DeGeneres show, the recently married Jenna Hager (nee Bush) told Ellen that she could use her parent's ranch for her same-sex wedding to longtime partner Portia de Rossi, People reports.

Hager's statement came with her mother, Laura Bush, by her side (with both promoting the importance of reading among young children), and is somewhat controversial because of the President Bush and his party's stance on gay marriage.

But, after looking at the exchange between DeGeneres and Bush, it appears that there is not much seriousness behind the statement.

"So the ranch was a great place to get married," DeGeneres says. "It looked like nobody could fly over and get pictures or bother you, really."

"Yeah," says Hager. "That was really nice."

"So, can we borrow it for our wedding," DeGeneres asks. "Can we get the ranch?"

"Sure," Hager says.

"Okay, great," DeGeneres says.

Don't expect DeGeneres and de Rossi to walk down the aisle any time soon in Crawford, Texas.
