Elton John to Develop Sitcom
John insists aging rock star character not based on himself
Singer, producer, knight, and fashion icon Elton John is adding the title of television creator to his growing repertoire. The show, as of yet untitled, will portray an aging rock star's bad behaviors and attitude problems, as well as the people around him, on the ABC network. John insists the character is not based on himself, but rather other stars like Rod Stewart, David Bowie and Mick Jagger. John's manager, Bob Halley, suggested the idea three years ago, but it is finally coming together now.
