Elton John Hospitalized for E. coli Infection

Elton John was hospitalized after contracting E. coli bacterial infection and the flu, the Associated Press reported.

The singer was forced to cancel many concerts due to the diagnosed illness.The 62-year-old is suffering from the flu and a minor case of E. coli infection, which has lead to the cancellation of the Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon concerts; concerts in which Billy Joel was set to perform alongside John. The tour had been on hold in July after Joel exhibited flu-like symptoms and fatigue.

John was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat in 1999 and was fitted with a pacemaker. The singer also has a history of alcohol and drug addiction but has been clean for 20 years. Although John has rescheduled canceled dates from the European concerts. The British singer was forced to cancel concerts in England, Ireland and the United States from his tours "Face2Face" and "Red Piano." Officials are also working on re-scheduling tour dates for the UK canceled concerts.
