Elvis' Handgun Stolen

A pistol owned by Elvis was stolen from a museum.

Some fans will do anything to get their hands on a piece of the King. Elvis Presley died at his Graceland home on Aug. 16, 1977--thirty years ago. Droves of fans made their way to Graceland, which is now an Elvis museum, to commemorate the anniversary. Graceland operates the museum across from it, the Elvis After Dark museum. There was some trouble in the museum when a fan made his way in to take a souvenir for himself. The man took a handgun owned by the King from the exhibit. It was a 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol. The theft was captured on tape, but they only discovered the missing gun when a visitor informed them of it. Elvis is buried in a garden on the grounds of Graceland.
