Eminem returns to the limelight with Detroit gig

Eminem returns

It's been quite a while since we've heard any news from Marshall Mathers, but Eminem has finally returned to prominence with the release of his new album titled "Relapse." In celebration he performed a free show of eight songs at Detroit's Motor City Hotel on May 19th, according to Rolling Stone.

A few hours before the show, Eminem set up a ticket hunt for fans around Detroit by giving clues on his Twitter website, telling participants to look near landmarks and distinctive buildings.

BBC News reports that Em's comeback has been very successful—the first single released in February, "Crack a Bottle," broke a United States download record, selling 418,000 copies in its first week. The new album is expected to debut at number one on the billboard charts.

Eminem is said to have suffered from sleeping pill addiction and writers' block in his absence from the rap scene, and wanted to recover before making any new material.
