Emma Watson Cuts Hair Short

Harry Potter star Emma Watson has chopped off her wavy locks and debuted her new hairstyle via her Facebook page.

In a black and white headshot, Watson proudly reveals her new look. She had clearly given careful consideration before cutting her hair, writing, “Dear all. Cut my hair off a few days ago… Feels incredible. I love it. I’ve wanted to do this for years and years. It’s the most liberating thing ever. Hope you like. Big love from Emma.”

Filming for the last two installments of the Harry Potter franchise was completed earlier this year.

Watson is currently in NYC doing promotion for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, set to hit theaters November 19. She will reprise her role as Harry’s friend, Hermione Granger. She has played the character since she was 9.

The 20-year-old English actress is sure to turn heads this fall when she begins her sophomore year of college at Brown University.

Other stars who have worn the boy’ish Pixie haircut include Halle Berry, Cate Blanchett, Hayden Panettiere, and Mia Farrow.
