Emma Watson Tired of Being Hermione

The "Harry Potter" actress has reportedly refused to sign for final films.

Emma Watson, better known as the screen incarnation of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, has apparently decided not to carry on with the final two Potter films. Watson has been the face of Hermione Granger in all five films to date, but a British tabloid has made claims that the budding actress is tired of being known as "that girl from Harry Potter." The tabloid, News of the World, backed up the claim with a quote from Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the series. He is quoted as saying that he and Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe do not have much contact with Watson outside of filming.

The story is said to be confirmed by Warner Bros. Pictures, that Watson is the only one of the three stars to hold out. It is also said that the 16-year-old has been offered about $4 million to sign on for the final two films. The sixth film is scheduled to begin filming in just a few months.

A factor that may have contributed to Watson's reported reluctance: she was recently confronted by an over-zealous fan at her school. A man in his twenties apparently entered the 16-year-old's British school and began talking to her about the Potter series. Police were called to the scene and Watson is now to have a bodyguard while at school.
