Emmanuelle Vaugier, who starred in both 2005’s Saw II and 2007’s Saw IV, has been cast opposite Piper Perabo in the USA Network’s new spy drama, Covert Affairs.
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, “Vaugier will play a fearless journalist/blogger as Perabo, a trainee CIA operative faces danger and intrigue after witnessing an assassination.”
The series is currently filming in Toronto and is set to premiere on July 13.
Vaugier’s past credits include starring opposite Michael Caine, Robert Duvall, Haley Joel Osment and Kyra Sedgwick in the 2003 family dramedy Secondhand Lions; she starred in several episodes of the CW’s science fiction drama Smallville, and in several episodes of the CW’s teen sports drama One Tree Hill; she guest starred in many episodes of the CBS police drama CSI: NY, has a recurring role on the Fox action drama Human Target, and has starred opposite Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer on the CBS comedy Two and a Half Men.
Perabo’s credits include starring opposite Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt in the 2003 comedy Cheaper by the Dozen and its 2005 sequel Cheaper by the Dozen 2; she also starred opposite Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Michael Caine in the 2008 thriller The Prestige and opposite Diane Keaton, Mandy Moore and Lauren Graham in the 2007 romantic comedy Because I Said So.
