Eric Dane checks himself into L.A. rehab facility.

Eric Dane of Grey’s Anatomy has checked into a Los Angeles rehab clinic.

Dane’s rep has confirmed to People, “Actor Eric Dane voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus. He reports back to work next week. Business as usual.”

Reports state that Dane is not “addicted” to the painkillers he was prescribed for his sports injury, but he checked himself into The Hills to prevent a possible addiction.

Along with the next season of Grey’s Anatomy currently being in the works, Dane and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, are expecting their second child. Dane reportedly doesn’t want to let anything get in the way of his family or his career.

A source close to the star said, “Eric felt things spiraling out of control and decided he needed to get some help.”
