Eric Dane's Lawyer Responds to Nude Tape Controversy
The Internet release of a nude tape involving "Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane, his wife Rebecca Gayheart, and Playboy model Kari Ann Peniche, has prompted a serious warning from Dane and Gayheart's lawyer. In a statement to Access Hollywood, attorney Marty Singer, Dane and Gayheart's representative, said that the tape was for his clients' private use and that anyone who misuses the tape will face "significant liability."
The threesome created the now controversial tape two years ago in Peniche's apartment. The footage that was leaked online, on the Web site Gawker's Defamer.com, showed Dane, Gayheart, and Peniche lounging naked and seemingly intoxicated and inventing porn names for each other.
Peniche, who claims that she never had sex with the couple, might have inadvertently caused the leak. One theory, published on TMZ.com, suggests that Peniche's former roommate, singer Mindy McCready, handed the tape over to the press after a heated argument with the nude model.
