Erin Andrews, reporter for ESPN, has filed a $10 million lawsuit for invasion of privacy against the man who was convicted of stalking her and against the West End Marriott in Nashville where the incident took place.

The lawsuit stems from the 2008 occurrence when a Chicago native, Michael Barrett, attached videotape to Andrews’ hotel room peephole and filmed her in the nude. The videos were later published on the Internet and remain available for viewers even after Andrews’ and her lawyer’s tireless efforts to get the videos removed. Reuters reports the man was convicted in 2010 and is currently serving a two-and-a-half-year sentence in federal prison.

Andrews is seeking $6 million in damages from the West End Marriott for negligence according to the lawsuit, for telling Barrett that Andrews was at the hotel then allowing him to get a room next to her. The lawsuit is also suing Barrett for a reported $4 million.

According to The Tennessean, the hotel has declined comment on the upcoming case but did say it has changed it’s policies since 2008. Jeff Flaherty, spokesman for the Marriott told the paper, “We updated our guest registration procedures to further enhance guest privacy.”

Since 2008, Andrews has continued her duties as a reporter with ESPN and was most recently seen on season 10 of Dancing with the Stars.
