Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming to star in 'Spider-Man'

The two actors will perform in the new Broadway musical.

Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming will star in the "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" Broadway musical to be performed at the Hilton Theatre next year, according to MTV.com. Wood will play Mary Jane Watson, Spider-Man's love interest, while Cumming will play Norm Osborn, also known as the Green Goblin.

Directed by Tony-winner Julie Taymor, the show will feature music from Bono of U2 and The Edge. Taymor co-wrote the musical with Glen Berger, according to DigitalCity.com.

There is no word on who will play Peter Parker, the notorious Spider-Man, in the musical, however, casting is underway, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The show is set to begin previews on February 25, 2010, with the official opening date to be announced soon, according to MTV.com. It has taken producers longer than expected to obtain necessary permits to put on the production.

Tickets are now on sale for American Express card members through Ticketmaster. Others interested in purchasing tickets will be able to buy them Sept. 12, according to DigitalCity.com.
