Evan Rachel Wood Denies Dating Mickey Rourke

After denying rumors that her split from rocker Marilyn Manson was a nasty breakup, actress Evan Rachel Wood is also denying that the split was due to a blossoming romance with The Wrestler costar Mickey Rourke, according to People magazine.

"Spread the word - I'm not dating Mickey Rourke," the 21-year-old actress said. "Everybody thinks we're dating and we're not."

The two worked together on an upcoming movie, The Wrestler, where Wood said she and Rourke became close.

"Mickey and I bonded while shooting 'The Wrestler' and we became friends, but nothing more. I guess, because of my recent breakup, I will be linked to many people, but I am not interested in pursuing a relationship at this point in my life. Any such rumor should not be taken seriously."

She hoped attention could be redirected to the upcoming flick.

"We are proud of the film we made together and I hope people will focus on the film and not get distracted by any nonsense," Wood said.

The 56-year-old actor also denied any relationship rumors.

"No, no. I'm a big fan of hers and she's a big fan of mine," Rourke said.

The two costar in The Wrestler, which is set to be released in January.
