Ex Village People star needs rehab

The Village People cop needs to do a little more than sing "YMCA" to keep himself from being sent to jail.

The Village People Cop needs to do a little more than sing the YMCA to keep himself from being sent to jail. Victor Edward Willis, 55, was told Tuesday by San Mateo County judge that instead of prison he will be sent to the Betty Ford Clinic for rehab.

Willis will be spending 30 days at Ford in Rancho Mirage, and then he will be sent to New Found Life Residential Treatment Center in Long Beach for an additional six months.

It has been said this is Willis' last chance to redeem himself so he will not have to put in time in a jail cell.

Over the past 18 years, Willis has been convicted of committing crimes on eight separate occasions, four of which were felonies.
