Fahrenheit 9/11 Green-Lighted for a Sequel

Michael Moore's latest film aims to reflect on Bush's time in office, for better or worse.

Michael Moore has plenty to say about the state of our country, having already questioned our health-care programs in Sicko, examined teenage society in Bowling for Columbine, and scrutinized our role in the September 11 terrorist attacks in Fahrenheit 9/11.

Moore still has more to say, but rather than question, he will use his latest film to reflect.

Moore plans to film a sequel to Fahrenheit 9/11 which will examine the standing of the United States in comparison to the rest of the world during our current president's tenure in office.

While Fahrenheit 9/11 was produced with the aid of Harvey Weinstein, this new effort will take place with the assistance of Overture Films and Paramount Vintage.

Moore has left the Weinstein Company, who played a part in producing Moore's previous efforts, the original Fahrenheit and Sicko.

The film is expected to be released in mid-2009. Nailing the release's timing was important, as Moore did not want this film seen as a "politically motivated effort."
