Fall Out Boy-The End?

The punk rockers are calling it quits.

After months of speculation, Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump have confirmed that their band, Fall Out Boy, is at least, for now, broken up.

According to People Magazine, bassist Wentz wrote on his blog Tuesday that “Fall Out Boy is on break . . . I can’t predict that I’d ever play in Fall Out Boy again.”

Lead singer and front man Stump was more definitive, telling Spin.com that he definitely “was not in Fall Out Boy right now.”

Both do acknowledge that the breakup is amicable, and don’t completely rule out a reunion or a new incarnation of the band in the future.

Stump is already at work on a solo album.

The band had released five albums since 2003. Their second album, Take This to Your Grave, achieved gold status, as did 2008’s Folie A Deux. Meanwhile, 2005’s From Under the Cork Tree went 2x multi-platinum, and 2007’s Infinity on High went platinum.
