Family Guy exposes abortion episode

Touchy subject for "Family Guy."

Adult cartoon "Family Guy" is no stranger to lewd jokes and pushing buttons, but a recently recalled episode may be a little too much, even for the lax channels which broadcast the comedy. The Los Angeles Times reports that series creator Seth MacFarlane told the Television Critics Association about an un-broadcasted episode where mother of the Griffin family, Lois, has an abortion. Yesterday, the cast of the show who voice all the animation read the script aloud to the academy.

The unreleased episode was titled "Partial Terms of Endearment," and featured Lois in a plot where she decided to get pregnant to be a surrogate for a couple who are unable to conceive. The couple is later killed in a car crash, and Lois has to make a decision as to whether she should keep the child. Lois eventually does have the abortion. The episode will likely not make it onto television anytime soon, but MacFarlane suggests that it will appear when the new season premieres on DVD.
