Fanning to Appear in "New Moon"

The star is set to play a vampire in the "Twilight" sequel.

Dakota Fanning, star of Summit Entertainment's Push, is set to appear in New Moon, the sequel to Twilight. According to msnbc.com, the 15-year-old actress will play Jane, a member of the Italian Volturi vampires.

Since January, there have been talks of Fanning joining the "Twilight" cast.

"I think it's too soon to tell if I'll for sure be doing it, but it's so great," Fanning said at the time. "Pretty much all my friends are big fans."

Fanning also joked that she won't need to spend hours in the makeup trailer to give her the pale vampire look. "I'm pretty white already."

The actress will also star alongside "Twilight" co-star Kristen Stewart in another movie, a biopic about the lives of the girl group, the Runaways. Fanning is currently in negotiation to play Runaways' singer Cheri Currie. Stewart is set to play Joan Jett.

New Moon is set to be released on Nov. 20 of this year.
