Fantastic Mr. Fox to run in London

Animated Wes Anderson film premieres.

At London's BMI film festival this year, an adaptation of "Fantastic Mr. Fox," by the late Roald Dahl, is set to premiere. The film was directed by Wes Anderson (also of "The Royal Tenenbaums" and "The Life Aquatic"). The Hollywood Reporter states that this has been Anderson's first animated film. Noah Baumbach wrote the screenplay to the movie and the animation is produced by stop-motion.

Several big-time stars voice the roles of the foxes for the film, such as the legendary Meryl Streep as well as Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe and even Pulp front man Jarvis Cocker. The story follows a family of foxes, the father of whom decides to leave his domestic and peaceful family life to return to the ruffian life of chicken thief.

According to MTV.com, Anderson has stated that "Fantastic Mr. Fox" was the first book he ever had as a child. He grew up cherishing the story, saying Mr. Fox paralleled his childhood interests in digging holes and getting into mischief.
