Farrah Fawcett Lost Battle With Cancer Thurs. Morning
Charlie's Angels actress Farrah Fawcett has passed away from cancer at age 62 at a hospital in Santa Monica Thursday morning, the Daily News Reports.
Famous for her feathered, blonde hair and status as a '70s icon, Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. She chronicled her struggle to survive in a two-hour documentary.
When the documentary aired in May, she was already too ill to attend the premiere.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Fawcett was declared cancer-free in 2007, but the cancer returned three months later, spreading to her liver. She repeatedly sought experimental treatment in Germany.
Fawcett's performances on "Charlie's Angels" and movies on the big screen and on TV following her single year on the series were often eclipsed by a tumultuous personal life, including a failed marriage to actor Lee majors, a son who fought drug addiction and a long-term on-again off-again relationship with actor Ryan O'Neal.
Only days before her death, O'Neal told Barbara Walters in a "20/20" interview that he hoped Fawcett would live long enough for them to marry.
