Farrah Fawcett’s famous red swimsuit is being donated to the Smithsonian Institute, People reports.
The swimsuit that made Fawcett an iconic pin-up will be housed in the museum’s pop culture history collection in Washington, D.C. Fawcett’s longtime partner, Ryan O’Neal, also contributed other items from the actress along with the swimsuit.
An original copy of the famous swimsuit poster, a leather-bound book containing Fawcett’s personal copies of scripts for the first season of Charlie’s Angels, a Fawcett swimsuit puzzle, a 1976 edition of TV Guide with the “Farrah Phenomenon,” an original Farrah Fawcett doll, and a famous hairstyling toy were also donated to the Smithsonian on Wednesday.
Fawcett died in 2009 after a lengthy battle with cancer. The actress was 62.
