Farrah Fawcett's Son Entering Rehab
The 24-year-old son of actors Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett has been hit with some drug-related hard times. According to People, Redmond O'Neal was admitted into a drug court program, Thursday. O'Neal was arrested in early April on charges of heroin possession, while he was out on bail for a prior drug conviction.
Court officials told O'Neal, he had "an opportunity to change your life" by entering the rehab program. O'Neal has been arrested within the past 12 months on counts of heroin, methamphetamines and driving under the influence charges. The latest arrest in April was at the same time his mother, Farrah Fawcett, 62, was hospitalized in Los Angeles following a medical procedure performed in Germany. Fawcett is currently battling anal cancer. She was diagnosed in 2006 and in 2007 the cancer returned.
O'Neal has been granted time to visit his cancer-fighting mother. O'Neal's next court date is set for May 28 and if he makes anymore slip ups he faces up to four years in prison.
