Farrah Fawcett's Son Violates Parole
As if dealing with the loss of his mother isn't enough, Redmond O'Neal was sentenced to 30 days in jail today after violating his probation. The original crime? A series of drug offenses.
O'Neal, the son of actors Ryan O'Neal and the recently deceased Farrah Fawcett, was arrested last year for the possession of heroin. On September 18, he was sentenced to three years of formal probation along with a mandatory drug program.
The violation comes from O'Neal's inability to stay clean. L.A. County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says that O'Neal tested positive for unspecified drugs after a 24-hour pass from his treatment center. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Tynan gave the current 30-day sentencing.
O'Neal is being kept at Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles and has a future court date of February 10.
