Farrah Fawcett's Story Shared
Last night, "Farrah's Story," the documentary about former "Charlie's Angels" star Farrah Fawcett's struggle with cancer, aired on NBC. Entertainment Weekly reports that the two-hour film was a "home-movie diary
covering roughly the past two years of living with cancer."
The special used a journal format where Fawcett read sections of it, asserting positive thinking and phrases such as "my own private war." There's also a section dedicated to devaluing the stories reported by the tabloids. Fawcett refers to the National Enquirer as being "invasive and malignant as cancer."
The Boston Globe reports that in the film, cancer is shown as a rollercoaster good news may come, but bad news always follows. Being a celebrity complicates the process even more.
But the doctors marveled at the fact that despite cancer, Fawcett's beauty still stands out. One of them, musing on the effects of chemotherapy, said, "Farrah probably has the most famous hair in the world."
No matter what else happens, "Farrah's Story" made sure that the world continues to root for her as if we weren't already.
