Fat and Cancer Linked

Cancer is being linked to fat.

A new report was released today that sheds light on cancer causes and prevention. Cancer is thought of as an unpredictable and sporadic disease, which is sometimes true, but more research is coming out having to due with prevention. According to ABC News, the research paper "Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity and the Prevention of Cancer: a Global Perspective," acknowledges the correlation between cancer and being overweight, eating too much red or processed meats as well as limited activity. The amount of body fat you have increases the chances of getting cancer and the more body fat you loose the less likely you are to get cancer. The study released by the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) and the World Cancer Research Fund suggests that to stay healthy exercise a half hour a day, eat only 18 oz of red meat a week and don't eat processed meats or foods like burgers and fries. "Along with avoiding tobacco, weight control and certain dietary adjustments offer powerful means of reducing risk for many, perhaps most cancers."
