Fawcett Clings To Life As Son Gets Arrested

Farrah Fawcett is currently in a Californian hospital fighting against anal cancer, while son Redmond O'Neal, on the other hand, is taken into custody and booked on drug charges

Farrah Fawcett, the fresh, blonde beauty, who was first introduced to television during the 1960's era, has been hospitalized in Los Angeles due to anal cancer. Miami Herald reports that Fawcett, 62, has undergone chemotherapy treatments and was recently transported from Germany for experimental stem cell treatments. The "Charlie's Angels" megastar was first diagnosed with the ailment in September 2006. By January 2007, Fawcett initially thought her cancer was gone, until it appeared again four months later. While Fawcett, who was nominated for six Golden Globes over the course of her career, rests in stable condition, her son Redmond O'Neal is making headlines as well. Unfortunately, none of which are for a good cause. Redmond O'Neal, also the offspring of Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O'Neal, was arrested for possession of narcotics and carrying drugs with him into a Los Angeles jail facility, People Magazine states. "At about 9:30 a.m., our deputies did a routine security check on a car in the parking lot of one of our jails," said Steve Whitmore, a representative of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. "Redmond was driving the vehicle, and admitted to deputies he was in possession of drugs."In all of the hullabaloo, 24-year-old O'Neal is presently on probation for a June 2008 DUI and drug possession conviction. O'Neal is scheduled to make a court hearing on April 7.
