Federline Should Pay His Own Way
Kevin Federline doesn't need his ex-wife's help to pay his legal bills.
That was the argument made by attorneys for Britney Spears yesterday, who challenged Federline's claim that he's broke and needs Spears to pay his legal bills, according to the New York Daily News.
In a Los Angeles hearing Monday, Federline said that his ex-wife should continue to pay his law bill, a total of $405,000. The two sides have tallied up millions of dollars in lawyer fees, all of which Spears is responsible for, according to the Daily News.
But Spears' attorney, Stacy Phillips, said no. She argued that Federline once tipped a waitress $2,000 on a $365 bill, and has blown tens of thousands of dollars on jewelry, phone calls and food.
She told the court commissioner that Federline should pay between $150,000 and $175,000.
Federline, one of Spears' former backup dancers, married the pop star in 2004. The two divorced less than a year later.
