Ferrell Back to His Roots for SNL Season Finale
Coming back in a fashion that portrayed he had never really left, Will Ferrell performed several classic characters on this week's Saturday Night Live.
Opening the show, Ferrell performed his George Bush character, reports ET Online; perhaps his smoothest character since he has been performing him on Broadway as of late.
In his opening monologue, Ferrell explained his serious works as of late and began to demonstrate them for the audience. As the crowd erupted into laughter, funny man Ferrell would stop his acting and tell the crowd, "please, no laughter."
According to Entertainment Weekly, Ferrell also brought back characters Alex Trebek and Harry Carey.
The show ended with Ferrell singing Billy Joel's bombastic "Goodnight Saigon," reports EW. The final performance included much of the SNL cast and crew as well as Elizabeth Moss, Paul Rudd on violin, Anne Hathaway on guitar and Tom Hanks singing along.
