Final 'Fablehaven' Book Due Out on Tuesday

Author continues with a second fantasy series.

Author Brandon Mull has described his successful Fablehaven series as "Jurassic Park meets Harry Potter." The final installment of the series, Fablehaven: Keys to the Demon Prison, will be released Tuesday, March 23.

The series began in 2006, each entry being a New York Times best seller, the series selling more than 650,000 copies. Mull claims that a Fablehaven movie is in the works. Still, Mull's work does not have the name value as Harry Potter or Twilight.

"My agent likes to call it the best-selling series you've never heard of," Mull says.

"People are pretty excited when his books come out," says John Clukey, events and outreach coordinator at Sam Weller's Bookstore in Salt Lake City. "He has national distribution, which we always think is pretty awesome for people in Utah."

"It's the biggest roller coaster of a book I've written so far," Mull says of the final Fablehaven book.

Mull is starting work on a major three-part series entitled The Beyonders, about a world where an evil emperor is breaking the spirits of heroes.

"It's my most epic thing I've tried to put together," he says.
