First photo release of Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin

Talk about getting in character. Julianne Moore is about to play Sarah Palin in the upcoming HBO film, Game Change, and by the looks of the first official press photo, she nailed the physics right on the Republican head.

The photo, published by the Hollywood Reporter, shows the actress in a bright red blazer with a patriotic flag pin. A pair of look-alike glasses and an updo haircut fine-tunes her transformation.

Game Change is written by Danny Strong and based on an expose book written by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin. It follows Republican John McCain during his failed 2008 presidential bid.

TotalFilm reported that McCain will be played by Ed Harris. His senior advisor, Steve Schmidt, will be portrayed by Woody Harrelson.

Hollywood Reporter informed on Tuesday that Lost actress Melissa Farman will be playing Sarah Palin’s daughter.

Filming started earlier this week.
