Five Sequels That Should Be Made

By Jackie Morrison,
Films that need to continue a tale

Do you have lingering questions about certain movies that remain? Are there special sequels begging to be made? Plenty of films have left us wanting more. Here are five possible tales in need of further storytelling.

Dear Frankie
If there is ever a sequel to this 2004 film it better happen soon before Gerard Butler ages out of the role he played in Dear Frankie. Fans want to know what the stranger’s name was. They also want to see Frankie have a father figure. Gerard Butler is the only person to reprise the character or a sequel won’t work.

Fish Tank
Just what does happen to Mia when she runs off to Wales with an Irish gypsy? It’s clear she has no future as a dancer so what does she do? As for Connor, what happens to him and his lothario lifestyle? Does Mia’s mother charge him for seducing her underage daughter? Does he go looking for Mia when she turns 18? Fans want answers!

Say Anything
This classic 1989 film is a timeless young love story. Boy loves girl. Girl loves boy. Boy wins girl after high school graduation but she moves to England. It’s been over 20 years but John Cusak could still reprise this role and win us over all over again.

The Last King of Scotland
What happens when Dr. Garrigan returns to Scotland? Does he change his approach to life and medicine? Is he eventually called to testify at the UN for what he witnessed in Uganda? Such questions need to be answered.

X-Men: First Class
Now we know how Charles and Erik broke up but the descent into madness for Magneto must be shown! Fans want to see Fassbender morph into McKellen or McAvoy transform into Stewart. Too much of the beginnings of the X-Men and the Brotherhood were not explored in the film. Only a trilogy will do!
