FlashForward will feature Dominic Monaghan

Dominic Monaghan has been out of our sight for a while, ending his stint on the acclaimed ABC series, "Lost," and previously being known for his role as the hobbit, Merry, in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Now he is returning to prominence by starring in the upcoming television drama, "FlashForward," according to the Associated Press. The series has a premise in science fiction; the concept of the show follows the events of a global blackout and the subsequent visions of the characters of how the world will continue after the event.

The format of the series may be seen as similar to "Lost," with its use of complex characters and flashbacks, but producers have related in the Los Angeles Times that "FlashForward" will offer even more thrills than its predecessor. According to the Hollywood Reporter, reports had surfaced that Monaghan had been on board for the new show ever since he appeared in the "ABC House" promotional campaign.
