Rapper Flavor Flav is in trouble in Iowa. Flav’s Fried Chicken is under investigation due to complaints from several former employees about their paychecks being bounced.
Four former employees complained about the unpaid wages, and it was confirmed Thursday that the checks were indeed bouncing, according to Quad-City Times.
Kelly Butler, a former employee, said that she is still owed two paychecks.
“When we’re supposed to get paid, we don’t get paid,” she said. “Paydays went from every Sunday, to every Tuesday and then Thursday. I was never paid on any of those days.”
In response to the investigation, Flav said that “mistakes happen” in the restaurant business.
Along with the investigation, Flav is gathering more attention. This time, from PETA. The organization reportedly sent the hip-hop artist an open letter urging him to turn his restaurant vegetarian.
The letter read: "Greetings from PETA! After reading about the debacle involving employees of your fried-chicken restaurant in Clinton, Iowa, whose paychecks bounced, we're writing to encourage you to bounce one more thing – cruelty – and make your restaurant vegetarian," Monsters and Critics.com reports.
Flavor Flav was a founding member of the hip-hop group Public Enemy, and also had a reality-tv show on VH1 called Flavor of Love which ran for three seasons.
