A former flight attendant sues Oprah
Corrine Gehrls, a former flight attendant on Oprah Winfrey's private jet is suing the talk show host. She is accused of having sex with chief pilot Terry Pansing this past June on a refueling stop.
Gehrls filled the lawsuit against Winfrey's production company denying the allegations. The suit states that during the June flight when the act supposedly happens, Winfrey and Kirby Bumpus (daughter of Winfrey's best friend Gayle King) were sleeping. After the claim was made both were fired, even after passing a polygraph test.
$75,000 in damages is what the former flight attendant is seeking from Winfrey's production company Harpo Inc. As reported on MSNBC.com, the suits main point "claims that fellow flight attendants Myron Gooch and Kirby Bumpus made false claims and defamatory accusations, which lead to her dismissal."
No comment has come from Winfrey or her production company yet. In the past Winfrey has had remarkable luck when it comes to legal battles. For example in "1998 she won a Texas defamation case brought by cattlemen who weren't thrilled when she said she'd sworn off burgers on a show about mad cow disease" according to Reuters.com.
