Former President Clinton Cracks Jokes During Gridiron Club Speech

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton spoke at the Gridiron Club’s annual dinner on Saturday and made fun of Democrats, Republicans, Al Gore, and himself.

During a speech that he gave on Saturday night at the Gridiron Club’s annual dinner, former U.S. President Bill Clinton showed off his sense of humor and ability to make fun of others as well as himself. Clinton, who made the speech in place of originally scheduled speaker and current President Barack Obama, made fun of politicians from both political parties, his former Vice President Al Gore, former Vice President Dick Cheney and himself.

According to FoxNews.com, the former President poked fun at his former running mate when he talked about how he was speaking on the night prior to the start of spring, which he said was, “Otherwise known to Al Gore as proof of global warming.” In regards to the ongoing battle over health care reform, Clinton poked fun at the heart ailments that he and a former Vice President have endured by saying, “It may not happen in my lifetime, or Dick Cheney’s, but hopefully by Easter.”

President Obama asked former President Clinton to fill in for him at the Gridiron Club’s annual dinner on Saturday night due to continued preparation for the upcoming House vote on health care legislation.
