Former WWE Wrestler Kanyon Dies at 40

Former WWE Wrestler Chris Kanyon was found dead in his New York City apartment on Saturday. Now, in what initially was overlooked, the case is being investigated as a suicide. Kanyon overdosed on medication and notes were left by his body. The openly gay wrestler spoke of taking his own life in recent weeks.

Prowrestling.net reported, "He told one friend as recently as Monday that he was having problems and was contemplating suicide. The friend is said to have contacted one of Kanyon's family members to express his concern — despite the fact that he and several of Kanyon's friends have heard similar statements over the years."

This isn't the first major wrestling death in recent years as fellow former WWE stars Umaga and Test died due to complications from steroids.

Kanyon won multiple titles in his time in WCW and WWE, winning both tag team championships and the United States championship.
