Fox Network and Time Warner Bring Negotiation Fight to the Public

The companies are fighting over price increases for the programming

Fox network and Time Warner are in a battle over programming costs, reported New York Daily News.

Time Warner Cable and Fox network have to come to terms on the contract details before the end of the year if Fox programming is going to be shown on Time Warner Cable systems.

The disagreements could result in Fox programming, including WNYW, FX, Fuel and Speed Channel, being dropped from Time Warner systems around the country.

Subscribers for Time Warner could end up losing programs such as “American Idol,” and the NFL.

On Friday Fox launched promos on-air and on the Web in order to get viewers on their side.

The companies are fighting over price increases from program suppliers.

In May of 2000 Walt Disney Co. and Time Warner failed to reach an agreement in contract negotiations and WABC/Ch. 7 was pulled from the air. Viewers were caught off guard as in the morning the channel showed a blue screen which read “Disney has taken ABC away from you.”
