Fox plans to release Glee' on DVD
Given the immense popularity of Fox's freshman musical dramedy television series "Glee," the network plans to release the already broadcast episodes for viewers to purchase on DVD by year's end.
According to an article on Variety.com, "Hoping to capitalize on early fan frenzy for new music-driven drama Glee,' 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release the show's first 13 episodes on DVD at the end of the year.'"
Meanwhile, "'Glee' Season One: Road to Sectionals" will be available in stores on Dec. 20, which is mere weeks after thr network completes the airing of the show's first 13 episodes.
In addition, by mid-2010, 20th Century Fox will be releasing another DVD containing the complete first season of the series.
Following "Glee's" initial 13 episodes, the DVD will also have the director's cut of the pilot episode, behind-the-scenes features, videos of the cast members' auditions as well as musical routines from the show.
"Glee" debuted after "American Idol" on May 19, 2009. The first season began airing on Sept. 9, 2009. The show's cast members include Dianna Agron, who previously starred in several episodes of the NBC sci-fi TV series "Heroes" and the CW teen drama "Veronica Mars" and Jessalyn Gilsig, who can currently be seen in the horror motion picture, "The Stepfather" among others.
