Fox Rearranges its Fall Line-Up

Fox rearranges its fall line-up to include "Don't Forget the Lyrics."

With the summer quickly coming to a close, execs are looking at their schedules and fine tuning their fall line up. The fall is the most competitive time for television programs, as few of the new shows will make it past November sweeps. In the TV world the best bet to getting a TV show a good following is the time slot. For instance, a show is not even given a fighting chance if it is positioned at the same time as a huge hit like "American Idol." This summer's karaoke hit, "Don't Forget the Lyrics" will be making its way to Thursday night. Fox created a game show night on Thursday with the popular "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" at 8 p.m. followed by "Lyrics" at 9 p.m. Thursday is the most competitive night on television with ABC's monster hit "Greys Anatomy" and NBC's Must-See-TV, Fox is smart to put their ratings-getter on Thursday.

"Kitchen Nightmares," which was set to be on Thursdays, will make its way to Wednesdays at 9 p.m. taking over the "Bones" time slot. "Bones" will now have a better Tuesday night slot at 8p.m. The new show "New Amsterdam" will be dropped from the fall line-up and slated for a mid-season pickup. Ah, the smell of premiere season in the air, so sweet.
