Foxx prepares for his 'Due Date'
Academy Award winning actor Jamie Foxx is gearing up to star in the latest comedy from the producer of 2009's breakout smash "The Hangover" Todd Phillips titled "Due Date."
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, "Foxx joins Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis in the road-trip movie about a high-strung father-to-be (Downey) forced to hitch a ride with a college slacker (Galifianakis) to make it to the birth on time. Foxx will play Downey's longtime pal, who once dated his wife (Michelle Monaghan) and secretly keeps in touch with her."
Phillips will be producing the film along with Daniel Goldberg of GreenHat Films with Scott Budnick and Susan Downey as the movie's executive producers.
Budnick and Phillips have worked together before since Budnick was the executive producer of "The Hangover." To his credit, he also was the associate producer of the 2004 Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson remake "Starsky & Hutch."Whereas Downey's credits include producing the 2005 Paris Hilton horror movie "House of Wax," producing the 2007 Jodie Foster/ Terrence Howard thriller "The Brave One" and producing the 2009 horror flick, "Orphan."
Shooting for "Due Date" will begin this fall in New Mexico, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
Meanwhile, moviegoers can see Foxx on the silver screen in the F. Gary Gray-directed thriller "Law Abiding Citizen," which opens in theaters on Oct. 16. He also just finished filming his role in the upcoming Garry Marshall-directed romantic comedy "Valentine's Day."
