Freddie Not Funny

Critics are panning ABC's Freddie

Freddie Prinze Jr. brings the same charm and charisma to his new ABC sitcom, "Freddie" that made every one of his movies a four-star, box office winner.

Freddie Moreno (Prinze) is an eligible bachelor, a chef at a trendy restaurant, and has a best friend played by Brian Austin Green. Everything seems great and then, oh no, his divorced sister moves in with her 13-year-old daughter, his sister-in-law, and his grandmother. The contrived plot and lame one-liners have critics panning the show.

The Chicago Tribune calls it "monotonously sophomoric." The Washington Post says audiences should wait for the DVD to come out in "two or three hundred years," and the Boston Globe says that the show should work on an "element called 'good writing'"
