Fringe
In the second episode of Fox's newest TV series, Fringe, mystery and action continue. Last night's episode started with a very disturbing scene with a woman and man in a hotel room. While the man reaches into his medical bag to retrieve his tools, the woman begins screaming and crawling for help while her belly grows quickly with lumps and jumps.
Her 'date' takes her and drops her off at the curb in front of a hospital. Once she is taken into the ER, the nurses ask her how far along she is in her pregnancy. "I'm not pregnant!" she exclaims. With one last convulsion, she quickly dies. After preparing her for a C-section, the baby they pull out grows into a man in less than an hour.
Special Agent Olivia Dunham is chosen to investigate and when she arrives at the hotel where the crime was committed, she puts the pieces together and thinks the man responsible might be someone she investigated years ago. This suspect used to torture his victims by removing a piece of their brain through their nasal cavity.
While Walter, the mad scientist/institutionalized father of Joshua Jackson's character, studies both the dead mother and the dead grown man, Olivia tries to track down the man who could be murdering another woman just at that moment.
And he is.
And the audience gets to witness it.
Fringe continues to wow its viewers with the technological advances and all the scientific possibilities, but almost crams too much action into one sitting. But, if you are a science fiction lover who has the time to stay glued to the television screen, this may be the right show for you. You can't really miss a line without missing a big part of the episode.
