I think by now, it's safe to say that most of us have heard the f-bomb-heavy Christian Bale rant that leaked online about a week ago. And while our respect for Bale probably dropped drastically after hearing him cuss out Terminator: Salvation director of photography Shane Hurlbut, there's no denying that he provided some comedy gold for YouTube users, musicians and TV personalities alike. So many have spoofed and skewered the actor that I thought it only appropriate to make a top five Christian Bale-inspired parodies list. Are you looking for a club hit with a catchy, thumping beat and profanities from your favorite newsy? Or do you find yourself thinking, "This rant is shockingly hilarious, but it could use some Bill O'Reilly"? Then look no further than the following. . . .
5. Stephen Colbert Verbally Thrashes Steve Martin
Several other TV hosts tried, but none succeeded quite as admirably as Stephen Colbert in parodying Bale. His impression was already inspired, but add in the fact that a pitiful Steve Martin is the object of Colbert's insults and you have a spoof for the ages.http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/217926/february-0...
4. Christian Bale vs. Bill O'Reilly
The mastermind behind this video did the world an enormous favor by not only creating a hilarious mash-up of two hissy fits, but also reminding us of Bill O'Reilly's similarly ridiculous explosion years earlier. The funniest part about it is how easily the two mesh together. Really makes you wonder if O'Reilly and Bale have crossed paths before. . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gbz6-7c_7Hk&eurl
3. F*ckin' Newsies
Although Bale is most well-known as Batman nowadays, his early career featured more kid-friendly roles, like Laurie in Little Women and, of course, Jack "Cowboy" Kelly in Newsies. It was only a matter of time before someone brought Newsies into the equation, and luckily for us, the Best Week Ever blog did so wonderfully in this recut trailer, which also features the final two picks on the list.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWiC9NRY3Bg
2. Bale Out
Apparently, Bale's tirade can also get you dancing. Revolucian's remix must have had techno artists everywhere sweating to come up with something half as good, and likely inspired a few outlandish requests by club goers.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTihsJQHt48&feature=related
1. R U Professional?
When I first heard Bale Out, I didn't think anything could top that brilliant dance remix, but this song by the Mae Shi slowly overtook it. Maybe it's the fact that someone wrote original lyrics about the rant. Maybe it's the fact that they reference 3:10 to Yuma and Empire of the Sun. Or maybe it's the fact that it's so catchy I added it to my iTunes collection. Whatever the reason, "R U Professional?" gets my vote for best Bale parody. As you can see from the competition, it's quite the honor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oFjz6JfACk
