Future Apatow/Sandler Film Has All-Star Cast
Director Judd Apatow, who has created quite a buzz for himself in Hollywood after the huge success, Knocked Up, has just confirmed the cast of what is tentatively titled Funny People. According to NewYorkPost.com, Eric Bana, Jason Schwartzman, Jonah Hill, Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, and Leslie Mann are signed up for the film.
Eric Bana, now famous for dramatic roles in movies such as Munich, actually started his career as a stand-up comedian in Australia, and then went on to work on a sketch comedy program and The Eric Bana Show. Hill made his mark in recent years with roles in Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, and The 40 Year Old Virgin. Mann, who is married to Apatow, appeared in Knocked Up and The 40 Year Old Virgin. Rogen's career skyrocketed after his performance in Knocked Up and his writing for Superbad.
Funny People is expected to begin production in September and will be released next summer. Though Apatow has been careful to keep plot details under wraps, the story centers on a stand-up comedian who has a near-death experience.
