Galaxy to Release Indie Thriller 'Psych 9'
Galaxy Pictures, a new distribution company, has obtained indie thriller Psych 9, which it plans to launch in U. K. theaters on Feb. 5 on digital screens.
According to an article on Variety.com, “Project's a US/UK co-production that journeys into the mind of a disturbed woman and centers on a near-abandoned hospital that has been plagued by a spate of killings.”
The film will be directed by newcomer Andrew Shortell and star Sara Foster, who has been featured on several episodes of the CW’s 90210, as well as Cary Elwes, who has starred in such hit motion pictures as 1987’s The Princess Bride, 1991’s Hot Shots!, 1993’s Robin Hood: Men In Tights and 2004’s Saw, Michael Biehn, who is best known for playing the role of Kyle Reese in 1984’s The Terminator, Gabriel Mann, who has starred in several episodes of AMC 's highly successful drama Mad Men and in both the 2002 Matt Damon thriller The Bourne Identity and its sequel 2004’s The Bourne Supremacy and Colleen Camp, who most recently starred in the 2008 Vince Vaughn/Reese Witherspoon/Robert Duvall/Sissy Spacek comedy Four Christmases.
The Variety.com article goes on to say that, “Universal Pictures (UK) has acquired UK homevideo rights. Exec producer Gareth Jones of Galaxy Pictures said he's in talks with several North American distributors and pointed to the strong performance by other supernatural thrillers such as Paranormal Activity.”
