Last night, fans of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars got to see J.R. Martinez win season 13. However, if you cannot get enough of the show, Game Show Network announced Tuesday that they have acquired syndication rights for seasons four through 13 of the hit show.
According to The New York Post, the deal will allow the cable network to show episodes starting in January 2012. The deal also extends to season 14, meaning that once the season is over, GSN can begin re-airing the episodes.
In a statement released by the network, Amy Introcaso-Davis, Executive Vice President of Programming, said that the deal is perfect because it is a show that the network’s targeted female audience already knows and loves. "GSN is all about the potent combination of games, competition, entertainment and fun, and we know that Dancing with the Stars is a show our female audience already loves,” she said.
Monsters And Critics reports that GSN will start with season four, which was won by Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno with dancer Julianne Hough. That season also featured country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, *NSYNC’s Joey Fatone, Cheers star John Ratzenberger and Paul McCartney’s ex-wife, Heather Mills.
