Gay NJ Governor's Wife Breaks Silence
Former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey's ex-wife has broken her silence about being married to a secretly gay man. In her new memoir, Silent Partner: A Memoir of My Marriage, Dina Matos McGreevey writes that her ex-husband was a selfish liar who began his gay affair while she was pregnant with their daughter.
Matos McGreevey, 40, also wrote that her husband wasn't happy when she told him she was pregnant with their daughter Jacqueline, now 5. She was on bed rest for much of the pregnancy, and it was while she was in the hospital her husband began his affair with Golan Cipel. The affair led to his 2004 resignation.
Silent Partner is Matos McGreevey's response to her ex-husband's autobiography, The Confession. In his book, released last September, McGreevey wrote that he married Matos McGreevey for political gain.
The couple are now separated and fighting bitterly over custody of Jacqueline.
