Gene Simmons to Judge on "Jingles"

Rock star sets out to find the best jingle writer in America.

Gene Simmons, the lead man for KISS who recently made an appearance on Celebrity Apprentice, has signed on as the lead judge on a new CBS reality competition, E! Online reports.

The show, which is titled Jingles, will seek to find the best ad jingle for "anything and everything," according to CBS. Each week, contestants will have to write and perform their jingles touting various products.

Simmons will be joined on the judging panel by Linda Kaplan Thaler, best known for the catchy Toys R Us jingle, and Julie Roehm, a former senior VP for marketing and communications at Wal-Mart.

The winner of the competition will receive $100,000 and a contract with a yet-to-be-determined advertising agency.

Former American Idol finalist Kimberly Caldwell will be the host for the show, which is set to premiere later this year.
